Cardcaptors V.S Cardcaptor Sakura
1) Names were changed, such as Sakura's last name(Kinomoto) to Avalon, Syaoran Li's name to Li Showran, Tomoyo Daidouji's name to Madison Tayor, etc. etc. 2) Episodes were cut out in the American version, and some got mixed together. This confused the plot of the episode, and the plot of the whole Series. 3) Voice actors were, of course, different, yet the voice actors that were chosen for the parts wern't suited for them. Many complains were of Sakura's, Tomoyo's, and Syaoran's voice which made the character seem rude, unlike the japanese verison which made them seem much sweeter. 4) Many kawaii moments between Sakura and Syaoran were taken out, so we barely knew about Sakura and Syaoran's relationship in the American verison. 5) The reason for the Final Judgement had changed. In the Japanese version, The whole world would have lost the love for the person that was most important to them. In the American version, everyone that was included with the Clow Cards would forget all the time spent on looking and sealing for the cards. This made little sense because it looked as though the friendships that Sakura made before the Clow Cards were in her life were also ruined. 6) Meiling and Syaoran were engaded in the Japanese version, while in the American Version, Meiling just seemed too jelous of Syaoran. 7) Many relationships in Cardcaptor Sakura were erased in the American Verison, such as Tomoyo's love for Sakura, etc, etc. 8) The Music was certainly different, because in the Japanese version, there were at least 3 opening songs and 3 ending songs, while in the English version, they changed it to 1 opening song, and 2 ending songs (1 of the ending songs was really just the opening song) 9) The ending completely changed in the American Verison. Syaoran doesn't confess to Sakura what his real feelings for her are. Sakura doesn't go to the airport to see Syaoran off to Hong Kong. Sakura didn't get Syaoran's bear. And so it ends with Sakura getting a new card, "Hope" Card, which really didn't have that name yet. It was such a bad ending for Cardcaptors. And the Second Movie didn't show at all on any American TV station or even a commerical of it, so it was as if there wasn't a second movie.
